Dr. Phil Sonstegard says he was “all guts, no brains, and no money” when he started out in 1972 with the purchase of an egg drying plant in Howard Lake, Minnesota. Dr. Phil lived in a small, unheated apartment above the plant. Business was tough in those days, but the cold Minnesota nights didn’t chill Dr. Phil’s vision for what would become the Sonstegard Foods of today.
The collective grew throughout the years and now includes operations in six states, delivering quality eggs and egg products into domestic and international markets. Our customers include food product distributors and manufacturers, governmental agencies and retailers.
The Sonstegard Foods group is a 3rd generation family owned agriculture and egg business that remains committed to high standards by investing in technology, processes and people.
